What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a method of adjusting the bones in the body to maintain the correct alignment of the spine so as to ensure that the body’s nerve supply works efficiently. |
Misalignments in the body come from many different causes, including accidents, one-sided sporting activities, poor posture at home or at work, childbirth or stress. Any interference to the nerve supply can lead to pain, discomfort, restricted mobility, or even adverse effects on the internal organs of the body.

McTimoney Chiropractic
The McTimoney method of Chiropractic is one branch of the chiropractic profession in the UK, accounting for around 1/3 of all chiropractors registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
McTimoney is one of over 300 different recognised chiropractic techniques in the World. It uses a variety of low force adjustments, most frequently using the toggle-torque-recoil which consists of an extremely light and fast movement. The toggle is the thrust, the torque is applied during the thrust and the recoil is the immediate removal of the practitioner's hands, allowing the patient's body to react by itself, so that the adjustment is not imposed upon it. This technique respects the body's innate knowledge of what is appropriate for it at that moment. It is a means of gently, and usually painlessly, persuading the bone to return to its correct resting position without forcing or stressing the joint or the body.
Because of its gentle nature it is suitable for all ages from the neonate to the old and frail.
